Mathilde Ross Holladay “Puttee”, born March 10, 1925 died on Saturday December 3, 2016 in Canton, Mississippi. In October 1946 she married Charles Randolph Holladay who predeceased her. Funeral services will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on 2919 St Charles Avenue in New Orleans on Wednesday, December 7 at 10 AM with the visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana. She is survived by her four children, Muffett H. Hailey, C Randolph Holladay, Harry Holladay, and Warren Holladay, their spouses, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is best known for the Christmas stockings that she knitted, her biscuits that she made every Sunday for church, her generosity and kindness. She was born in New Orleans, met her husband in Virginia, lived in Picayune Mississippi and then returned to New Orleans in 1999. Donations may be made to Christ Church Cathedral or the charity of your choice.
