

Maureen "Reenie" Lier Cash passed away on November 14, 2025, surrounded by her family in a room filled with love, at 77 years of age. She was born in New Orleans, LA on March 14, 1948. She graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School and worked as a secretary for nearly 20 years at Barbre Middle School.
Maureen was beautiful from the inside out. She was crowned St. Aloysius Homecoming Queen in 1965.
A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Maureen spent her life taking care of and spending time with her family. She was a true homemaker. She had a passion for cooking and was always in the kitchen. The holidays stood as her favorite time of year as she loved hosting gatherings for family and friends in her home. Selfless at her core, she placed her family above all else. Maureen was at her happiest anywhere, doing anything as long as her family was by her side.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Anthony Joseph Cash; daughter, Lisa Cash McMichael (Charles); son, Kevin Michael Cash; sister-in-law, Cindy Cash; and grandchildren, Courtney Silva (Kevin), Sarah Bertus, Connor Cash, Seth Bertus, and Austin McMichael.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice Adrian Lier and Emelda Oustalet Lier; brother-in-law, James Michael Cash; and great-grandchild, Callen Thomas Cash.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 11:00 am until the funeral mass at 1:00 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70124. The interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
