Melanie V. Bergens

Melanie V. Bergens born October 15, 1933 passed away on June 2, 2023 at the age of 89. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, tending to her flower and vegetable garden, reading, and watching golf. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arthur G. Bergens, Sr.; parents, Fred Lee Williams and Mary Estelle Patterson; sister, Jaquelin Folse; brother, Edward Breaux; son-in-law, Charles Brooks, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Brooks and Dianne Bergens; sons, Arthur Bergens, Jr. (Teri) and Bryan Bergens (Bridget); grandchildren, Amy Leasman (Joseph Leasman), Matthew Bergens, Mitchell Bergens, Charles Brooks, Jr. (Corey), Gregory Brooks, Kathleen Duke, and Melanie Duke; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Tennison, Carter Brooks, Camren Brooks, Caleb Zelaya, Emily Zelaya, Jonah Constantino, Colton Bartlett; brother-in-law, Kenneth Folse. Services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by a service at 2:00PM.
