

Melba Lorraine Williams Darcé, of Metairie, Louisiana, died on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was 91 years of age.Melba was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Ralph J. Darcé; sons, Ralph J. Darcé, Jr. and Ronald J. Darcé; parents, Clyde Willis Williams and Bertie Seal Williams; and siblings, Gerald Williams, Ancel Williams, Billy Williams, Annie Toney, and Faye Adams.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Montalbano (John) and Cheryl Bertin (Bert); sons, James Darcé and Steven Darcé; brothers, Richard Williams (Mary) and Ray Williams (Kaye); grandchildren, Dana Callaghan, Danielle Ready, James Darcé, Jr., Sherrie Darcé, Nicole Asprodites, Nathan Darcé, and Kallie Russell; and great-grandchildren, Amber, Tyler, Brooke, Kain, Juliet, Alexander, Logan, Lucien, Skyler, Gage, and Izetta.
Melba was born in Zona, Louisiana on February 25, 1930. She resided at Metairie Manor for almost 10 years before becoming a resident at St. Anthony’s Nursing Home. She was an avid bingo and Scrabble player. Melba was known for her ability to light up a room with her smile and her laughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 10:00AM until 1:00PM. The interment will follow the gathering at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
