Melinda L. “MARDI” Youngblood, age 71, departed this earthly life on July 27 from her home. She was under the compassionate care of the staff of Passages Hospice, the loving watchcare of longtime companion Diana Drummond, the vigilant attention and comfort of precious dog Rags and dog Buddy, and the prayers and assistance of many dear ones. Her special telling of tall tales and sense of mischief , humor and caring will be greatly missed as her chosen family and friends remember the enthusiasm she had for her many favorite activities--most importantly fishing and football-- mainly the Saints and FSU . She leaves a treasure trove of memories for Deanne Aime, Louise Bill, Annette Bonnee, Mary Capps,Dorothy Dutro, Robin Owen ,Erin Roussell , the women who helped to care for her during the many months of her illness and the many friends she gathered during her life. She leaves us with the reminder to laugh, love and live the gift of life to its fullest each moment of each day. There will be a private interment and at a later date there will be an intimate gathering and reception at the Godspace Sanctuary so we may share stories and celebrate Mardi's life and the gifts she so freely shared. Rev.Deanne Aime will officiate. She is also survived by brother A.V Youngblood Jr. of Greensboro, FL and several dear nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements by Lake Lawn Funeral Home.
