Melissa Nicole Barras passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 43. Preceded in death by her Angel, Briar-Rose Louise Rudolph, and her mother, Sharon Rudolph. Survived by her husband, Jeff Barras, her Rainbow Baby, Crowley Rose Barras, and her daughter, Lilian Morgan. Also survived by her sister, Brittany Bangs (Ben), and niece, Brielle Roberts. Beloved daughter-in-law of Lydia and Ronald Barras; adored sister-in-law of Andrea Barras.
Melissa, first and foremost, loved her family. She was especially proud of her Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana heritage. She had just re-enrolled as a student at Southeastern Louisiana University, to pursue a B.S. in Health and Human Sciences, with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies.
She was an active artist, creating jewelry, painting, and woodburning. She loved live music, true crime documentaries, and trash tv shows.
Her candle burned out long before her legend ever did. She will be greatly missed by many.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at The Twist of Lime, 2820 Lime Street, in Metairie, LA 70006, on Saturday, July 12th, starting at 6:00PM.
