Melva Dier Borris Williams

Melva Dier Borris Williams passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the age of 81. She has now rejoined her late husband of 58 years, Dr. Everett J. Williams, Jr. in their heavenly home. Mother of Melva Maureen Williams, Eileen T. Williams and the late David Anthony Williams. Sister of Frank Borris(Kitty) and Toni Joseph(Frank). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends, especially her closest and loving pals, Aloha Collins, Carolyn Mohr M.D. and Lydia Adams. She was a native of New Orleans who shared her love of learning with the children of this city as a teacher in the New Orleans Public Schools for 43 years. She was a dedicated wife throughout her husband’s Diaconate career and his time as the Superintendent of the New Orleans Public Schools. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11AM. Visitation will begin at 10AM until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
