Michael Francis Barry, son of Bertha Lion Barry and Francis Julian Barry, was born in New Orleans on November 30, 1943, and died on July 16, 2026, after a short illness. He was an Honors Class Graduate of Jesuit High School in 1961, received a B.A. Degree from Loyola University in 1965, and a J.D. Degree from Loyola Law School in 1968. He practiced criminal law defense for many years.
He is mourned by his brother, Francis J. Barry, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Janice Barry; his nephew, Francis J. Barry, III; his niece, Marianna Barry Boyd; their spouses; and seven grand nephews and nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9 AM with a Funeral Mass following at 11 AM. Michael will be laid to rest in his family’s property in Metairie Cemetery immediately after the chapel service has concluded.
