Mr. Rooney will always be part of the special memories I have of Kehoe- France. The school and camp did an amazing job of hiring and retaining a loving and caring staff that included Mr. Rooney. As a current educator, I am aware of how special someone like Mr. Rooney truly was - dedicating 35 years to such a noble profession. Prayers for his friends and family.

Mr. Rooney was one of my favorite teachers and one I always remembered throughout adulthood. He encouraged us to think critically and accept nothing less than excellence in every aspect of our lives. He was a positive influence in my life and I am grateful to have been one of his students. RIP Mr. Rooney - you will be missed.

Our colleague and friend, Mike Rooney validated this axiom: “Some people are such a large presence while living that they still occupy space even when they are gone.”
God Bless.

Mr. Rooney was one of my favorite teachers at Kehoe-France. He was a gentle giant with such a kind soul. My brother Blake and I were so blessed to call him teacher; my mother Tucker Woods and Grandmother Mary McCrady enjoyed working along side of him. He will be missed.

I will always think of Mike as the glue that held our "back" hall together. He was there when anyone needed help, which was often. He loved our Records' Day outing to eat Chinese food at our favorite restaurant. He was a problem solver surrounded by a group of women with lots of problems. :-) I always wanted to be the "favorite teacher" but I knew I never stood a chance while competing with Mike. Maybe, it was just because he was so tall. We all know better than that. He was kind, compassionate, and a conscientious teacher. Students and faculty and friends will cherish his memory forever.

I remember like it was yesterday the many summer evenings of basketball played with Mike at the K-F gym. Nights much like tonight. Whenever I think of him or hear his name thats the image I see, I'll keep it that way. Rest in peace Mike.

My daughter and son graduated from Kehoe-France and had the honor of having Mike Rooney as teacher and coach. I also worked with Mike at Kehoe-France Day Camp for many years. He was outstanding as a teacher, coach, and a friend to all. He will be missed.
