

Michael William Sciortino born February 11, 1921. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington, Louisiana for 33 years. Son of the late Ellen Gregson and William Sciortino. Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Alice Patorno Sciortino, and his sisters Mary Spanolia and Ellen Glaviano. He was a 1938 graduate of Jesuit High School, a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of St. Anselm Church, Knights of Columbus, the Tchefuncta ROB's, and the founder and original owner of the Liberty Bell Cab Co. He is survived by his daughters Mickey S. Faucheux (Wayne), Cherie S. Vaughan (Gary), Debra S. Arzonico (late Louis), grandchildren Monique F. Palmisano (Robert), Heather M. Jessee (Wade), Louis Arzonico (fiancee April), Alicia A. Airey (Narvada), eight great grandchildren and a great-great grandson to be born in May. Special thanks to his devoted caregivers Edward Moore and Greg Schilling, Susan Tufts RN and St. Tammany Hospice, and all of the staff at Christwood Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital (4410 Highway 22, Mandeville, LA 70471) Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at11:00am.
