Michael is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lisa Stadler Stagno; Kevin Michael Stagno (Candice), Kurt Richard Stagno, Kyle Anthony Stagno (Elizabeth), and Katherine Stagno Doell (Matthew); brother Frank Stagno (Rhonda), grandchildren Eleanor, Oliver, Brody, Autumn, and Elsie; life-long friend Lewis "Woody" Schuler; and God son Brandon Lewis Schuler. He was preceded in death by parents Richard W. Stagno, Sr. and Nancy D. Stagno; and siblings Patricia Burke and Richard W. Stagno, Jr.
A 1976 Rummel graduate, Michael served the Times-Picayune as a career Pressman. He was a simple man. He loved fishing, his dogs, shrimping, cooking (particularly "Mike's Meats," beef jerky, Hogshead cheese, and turtle soup), the Chateau Pub, LSU Tigers, and his family and dear friends. Michael will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124, followed by a memorial Mass at 12:00 PM, with inurnment thereafter.
