Michelle M. Schumert passed away April 7, 2022 at the age of 46. She was born on January 30, 1976. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Schumert; her grandmother, Lelia Nugier; and her aunt, Ellen Nugier. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Schumert; her uncle, Charles Nugier; her great-uncle Calvin Lapuyade; and her cousin, Leslie Klemp (Greg). She is also survived by her many helpers and friends: Barbara, Melanie, Mercy, Stephanie and Maddie, Cherie and Jenny, Kenny and Diane, and Kim. The family wishes to thank everyone at East St. John High School in Reserve and the workers and residents of the Pontchartrain Nursing Home in Mandeville who helped her passage through life.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life Service to be held in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
