She was a native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of Slidell, LA. She was born in New Orleans on December 2, 1947, and she graduated from St. Stephen’s Catholic School. Michelle worked for over 30 years at various health food stores. She dedicated the last few years of her life to caring for her beloved husband, Roy.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Debbie Torres (Chris) and Kim Lentz; adoring grandchildren, Angelle Torres, Alyssa Lentz, and Brooke Lentz. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Trudy) Quinlan; niece, Sheri Fleming (Nathan); nephews, Randy Quinlan (Wendy) and Kenny Quinlan (Samantha). She is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Michelle was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Torres, Jr.; son, Troy Michael Torres; mother-in-law, Rosemary Miller Torres, father-in-law, Roy A. Torres Sr.; and brother-in-law, Eugene Quinlan.
Michelle loved her family, she adored her husband, two daughters, son-in-law, and especially her three granddaughters. She loved vacationing in Disney World with her husband and family. She was an amazing cook, and we will miss her one-of-a-kind recipes that no one could ever replicate. She loved working outside in her garden where she could watch her birds and care for her plants. Michelle had many interests and hobbies, too many to name, but two of the most significant were her love for Elvis Presley and a cold bottle of Coca-Cola. She and her husband Roy were the best of friends, they were inseparable. It was a rare occasion to see one without the other. They were married for fifty-eight years. She passed away on the sixth month anniversary of her husband’s death. They are together again, and we are sure that they would not want it any other way. Michelle was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday August 14, 2026 at 12:00PM. The visitation will begin at 10:00AM. Michelle will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park following the Mass.
