Mildred F. Moragne

Mildred Fererro Moragne, of Slidell, LA on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Anderson at Summerfield Memory Care passed away peacefully amongst family and friends. Age 91 years and beloved mother of Gary L. and wife Saundra E. Moragne, of Slidell, LA and Terry Lynn Finka and partner Herb Heider, of Richmond VA, the late Carol M. Landache and the late Frank H. Moragne. Also survived by daughter-in-law Peggy P. Moragne and sister Inez F. Hughes, Ponchatoula, LA. Daughter of the late Francis John and Victoria Helmers Fererro. She is preceded in death by her loving husband James W. Moragne and sisters and brothers Viola R. Singletary, Hazel F. Dolese, Frank, Milton, Johnny and Pearl Fererro. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. A former resident of Metairie for 47 years and a resident of Slidell since 2011. She was a retired desk supervisor for Ochsner Hospital/Clinic in Jefferson. She enjoyed family events, crafts, cards, bingo, cooking and especially all her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 7:30 PM. Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
