Minnie Raby was born May 2, 1939 in Meridian Mississippi to the late Aaron Moore and Jose Cole Moore. Minnie attended Walter L. Cohen Senior High class of 1957 and later attended Southern University in New Orleans receiving an Associate, a Bachelor, and Master’s degrees in Social Work. Minnie was employed as a social worker for more than 25 years. Her last role was with Travelers Aid Society providing services to the homeless and vulnerable populations in the New Orleans area until Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. This unfortunate tragedy caused her and her husband to relocate to Gonzales LA, where she spent her remaining years until her homegoing on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Minnie was the wife of the late Earl Raby, mother of three sons, Alvin Wiggins, Derek Wiggins and the late Errol Raby; five grandchildren, Candice Mitchell, Shayla Wiggins, Christina Wiggins, Shaquille Wiggins and Lauren Simone Raby; four great-grandchildren Chase Usher, Brayden Mitchell, Preston Mitchell and Omari Uwadi. Two Brothers, the late Lionel Moore and the late Willie Moore; two Sisters Letha Mathews, and Joann Rivera of Monticello NY; a host of nieces and nephews; two daughters in law, Karen Wiggins Houston, TX, and Carlis Wiggins Atlanta GA; also adopted Nephews Timothy and Jeremy Goux and adopted niece Lena Farr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at The Christian Assembly, 42158 HWY 941, Gozales, LA, 70707.
