Myron Elizabeth Gogarty

Myron Elizabeth Gogarty died at her home in Metairie on Sunday, September 9, 2018. She was a long-time resident of Metairie having moved with er family from New Orleans after World War II. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in New Orleans and maintained close ties with her classmates over the years. She raised three sons starting in Metairie and then in Aspen, Colorado where the family lived in the 1970s. She overcame adversity in her life with strength and courage and made the most of every moment with her loving family. She is survived by her sons Charles Hemenway and his wife Ruth Mills of Chicago, Curtis Hemenway of Metairie, and Cullan and his wife Leslie Hemenway of Houston. In addition to her great love of her children and their spouses, she was particularly proud of her grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, and Madison Hemenway whom she was fortunate to watch grow and flourish. She will be missed very much. There will be a visitation at 11:00am followed by a Memorial Mass at Noon on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Interment will be private.
