

Nancy W. Schluckebier passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Lambeth House. She was born on October 30, 1922 in her beloved Findlay, OH. She was the wife of late Robert R. Schluckebier for fifty-five years. She was the loving mother of Susan Schluckebier of Natick, MA , John Schluckebier of Dallas, TX, and Sara Scandurro (Tim) and proud grandmother of Laura Schluckebier, David Schluckebier, Audrey Scandurro, and Camille Scandurro. She was the daughter of the late Nann and Murdock Woodward. She was the sister of the late John Woodward, Margaret Woodward Aiton, and James Woodward. Nancy graduated from Findlay College in 1944 with a degree in education and taught at McClure High School for a year before returning to Findlay to work as a legal secretary. It was there that she met Robert, a returning WWII Veteran who served in the Pacific as a Lieutenant JG, and had moved to town to work for Marathon Oil Company. She and Robert also lived in Casey, IL, and New Orleans before retiring to Amite, LA and ultimately Marble Falls, TX before returning to New Orleans to live at Lambeth House in 1999. She enjoyed playing the piano, bridge and golf. She loved Dietsch’s chocolate, Wilson’s hamburgers, socializing with her girlfriends, clothing with pockets, big band music, lipstick, large earrings, crossword puzzles, the Daily Jumble, and most of all, her four grandchildren. She was an avid volunteer in her Church communities and children’s activities. She was a member of Munholland United Methodist Church and the Findlay chapter of Eastern Star. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lambeth House and Guardian Angels Hospice for their loving care of Nancy. A funeral service will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Saturday February 11 at 11am.
