

Nancy Eleanor Uhrich Williamson passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Harlingen, Texas on December 25, 1939. Nancy was a graduate of Harlingen High School in Harlingen, Texas and preparing to enroll in Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas when her sister, Sarah, convinced her to go to a couples’ square dance at First Presbyterian Church in Harlingen. There she met the love of her life, officer Edward Williamson. They were married in May of 1958 and eventually moved to Florida. Then the young family settled in River Ridge, Louisiana in 1965. Nancy was a dedicated wife, mother of three children, grandmother of one, and active in numerous church and community activities. They were members of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Metairie. After Edward’s death in 2002, she transferred her membership to First Christian Church of Greater New Orleans. Nancy was active in church choir and several women’s circle groups, as well as Book of the Month Club, and the Hallmark Ornament Kollectors’ Club. She was always very kind and generous with her time and energy, and a friend to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Edward P. Williamson; parents Warren Jacob and Mary Eleanor (Fett) Uhrich. She is survived by her sons Randall Williamson (Betsy), Michael Williamson (Ramona), and Scott Williamson (Emily); sister Sarah Wheeler; grandchild Amelia Grace Williamson; nieces Cheri Sires (Edward) and Cathy Wheeler. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Home Instead Senior Care and the doctors, nurses, and staff of Chateau Living Center who made her last years comfortable and pleasant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest Food bank, (no-hunger.org) or Muscular Dystrophy Association (mda.org).
