Nickie L. Bonura, Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 74. He was born in New Orleans to the late Marion and Susie Bonura. Husband of Mary Migliaccio, father of Mario James Bonura, Sr. (Suzanne). Nickie L. Bonura, Jr. (Lisa), Nino Joseph Bonura, Sr. (Laurie)

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nickie, a former resident of Avanti Senior Living in Covington, LA, was called coach by many youth at Lakeshore Playground in Metairie. He graduated De La Salle High School in 1961 and was inducted into its Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. His first career was as a draftsman at Amoco Corp. and Louisiana Land & Exploration. He was part owner of B.E.V. Reprographics, an industrial blue line and printing company. He enjoyed a second career as a table games dealer for the Grand in Gulfport, Stratosphere and Bellagio in Las Vegas, and the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Along the way he worked at Sealtest Creamery. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a Sergeant in 1968. His favorite hobby was woodworking. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a public visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 6 pm until 9 pm. A brief visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 11 am until 12 pm with the Funeral Mass at noon. Interment will follow the Mass at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
