

Nolte Louis Lincks, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on September 11, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of River Ridge, Louisiana.
After high school, he earned an associate's degree from Delgado Community College. He went on to devote 26 years to the United States Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8). He also served as a navy recruiter, helping guide others toward their own paths of service.
In his free time, Nolte loved fishing and eating.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Dawn Lynn Callaghan; and his parents, Nolte Louis Lincks, Sr. and Rita Ruppel Lincks. He is survived by his son, Nolte Louis Lincks, III (Rebecca); daughter, Christa Lincks Sciacca (Kirk, Sr.); brother, Kenneth Michael Lincks; grandchildren, Kirk Sciacca, Jr. (Ashlyn), Brooke Sciacca (Sammy), Nolte Louis Lincks, IV, and Baylie Dawn Lincks; great grandchild, Naomi Lynn Sciacca; and companion of ten years, Diane Sommers.
Nolte was a devoted family man, radiating love and joy as a father, brother, grandfather, and recently, great-grandfather. His life was a vibrant tapestry of cherished experiences, woven with threads of passion and adventure. Among his favorite pursuits was bowling, a sport he enthusiastically shared with his children from a tender age, creating lifelong memories that still strike a chord today. Alongside his brother Kenneth, Nolte participated in numerous tournaments and league games, showcasing his skill and sportsmanship, including several perfect games that left a lasting impression. His zest for life also found expression in parade rides with various New Orleans organizations over five decades, culminating in annual Mardi Gras celebrations with loved ones in the Metairie truck parade. As a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan, Nolte lived his dream, cheering them on from their inaugural season in 1967 until he relocated to Texas in the early 90s, and later rekindling his passion with season tickets alongside his son, culminating in witnessing their historic Super Bowl victory. His beloved pet, “Breez,” named in honor of Drew Brees, brought immense joy, accompanying Nolte everywhere and receiving endless affection.
Nolte was also a galactic superstar with an unwavering passion for Star Wars, illuminating his life with an extraordinary collection of cherished memorabilia. With unrelenting enthusiasm, he gathered every Star Wars treasure he could lay his hands on - from iconic costumes of Chewbacca, Storm Trooper, and Darth Vader to Legos, action figures, and statues. His love for the franchise inspired a mandatory pilgrimage to Disney World for the grand opening, a celebration that marked a dream come true. Whenever the movies hit the theaters, Nolte was front and center for sneak peeks, followed by multiple viewings in a single day, basking in the magic of the films. Undeniably, Star Wars stood as his most treasured cinematic masterpiece, a timeless source of inspiration.
Nolte's festive spirit shone brightly in monthly lunches with old friends and neighborhood companions, reminiscing about the past while embracing the present. Annual reunions with Navy buddies further enriched his life, as did spontaneous conversations with strangers that often blossomed into meaningful connections. An extrovert at heart, Nolte lived life to the fullest, leaving an indelible mark on those around him. His dream of a serene retreat materialized seven years ago when he and his brother Kenneth discovered a stunning haven in Bay Saint Louis, where they bonded over fishing, crabbing, and lighthearted escapades. Sharing this haven with his family brought Nolte immense happiness, as he watched his children and grandchildren revel in the beauty of nature and the joy of togetherness. Family remained his top priority, a testament to the love and devotion he embodied. In his short time in Bay St Louis, Nolte's warmth and spirit have profoundly impacted his community, leaving behind a legacy of love and connection as well as his loving neighbors in River Ridge that cherished the time spent with each other.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, April 24, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9 AM with a Catholic memorial service following at 11 AM. Nolte will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery immediately after the chapel service has concluded.

The family extends special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at The Veteran Affairs Hospital, University Medical Center, Touro Inpatient Rehabilitation, West Jefferson Medical Center, and especially the Azalea Room staff in The Community Living Center that helped him in his last journey back to Bay Saint Louis, his happy place.
