Olga Fernandez Singletary

Olga Fernandez Singletary, aged 87, a native of San Antonio, Texas and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on February 17, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1934, to the late Leon Fernandez and Paula Garcia Fernandez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Kirk Singletary, Sr.; her daughter, Patricia Ann Singletary; her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Singletary and Hector Armienta; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Singletary. She is survived by her sons, James Kirk Singletary, Jr. and John Kevin Singletary; her daughter, Jeannine Kay Moraitis (Evangelos); her grandchildren, Joseph James Moraitis and Joshua Alexander Moraitis; her sisters, Elisa Armienta and Tina Prado; her brother-in-law Aldrich L. Singletary; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was a faithful congregant of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church and St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church. She will be fondly remembered for her love of singing, reading, hugging, and her love for family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., with Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Metairie Cemetery.
