Olive Rodriguez Fuchs

Olive Marie Rodriguez Fuchs peacefully died on May 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Olive graduated from Metairie Park Country Day School and attended LSU. In 1955, she married John Charles Fuchs, Jr. They resided in Metairie and raised 3 children: Mary Fuchs Gaudin (Hilary), Suzanne Fuchs Mueller (Walter), and David and their children continued the Country Day tradition. She loved hosting family holidays, attending parades and balls, international travel, and was a regular bridge player. Olive was also a skilled seamstress, including needlepoint, making clothes and costumes for her children and grandchildren. At several times, Olive owned residences in Destin, Florida that she shared with family and friends. She was a member of philanthropic and social organizations. She supported and donated to multiple charitable causes including St. Catherine of Sienna, East Jefferson Hospital, and PEO as a 50-year member supporting women in education. She enjoyed watching all sports as an avid Saints and LSU fan and attended Super Bowl XLIV to watch her beloved Saints win.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Rodriguez and her husband. She is survived by her children, her brother Antonio J. Rodriguez (Virginia), grandchildren: Jonathan Gaudin, Walter Tyler Mueller (Andresa), Chelsea Gaudin Favret (Thomas), Courtney Mueller Sharp (Dylan), Hilary Gaudin Robin (Hunter), Mary Olivia Gaudin Dupepe (Hunter), great grandchildren: Francis, Collins, Alina Marie, Riley and nephews Jake and Stephen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
