Born on March 2, 1958, in Arlington, Virginia, Patty lived in New Orleans before later making her home in Covington, Louisiana. She embraced the vibrant culture, traditions, and spirit of celebration that made New Orleans so special to her.
Patty was truly one of a kind. Known for her infectious laughter, quick wit, impeccable style, and larger-than-life personality, she was always the life of the party. The ultimate “hostess with the mostest,” she had a gift for bringing people together and making every gathering memorable. A playful prankster, she never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh.
Patty devoted her professional life to her career as a dental hygienist. Her warmth, humor, and genuine care for others made her beloved by her patients, many of whom followed her from one dental practice to another throughout her career. Their loyalty was a testament to the personal connections she formed and the lasting impression she made.
For decades, Jazzercise was a cherished part of Patty’s life, combining her love of music, movement, and having fun. She also loved traveling, entertaining, attending festivals, and listening to live music. Mardi Gras held a special place in her heart, reflecting her joyful spirit and love for a good celebration.
Above all, Patty loved her family. She shared 48 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Joseph Walter Taormina, and was a loving mother to her two daughters. Affectionately known as “Bebe” to her six grandchildren, she will be remembered for the laughter, love, and memories she shared with them.
Patty is survived by her husband, Joseph Walter Taormina; her daughters, Lindsay Carnegie (Trey) and Caroline Mayronne (Bryson); her six grandchildren, Carson Carnegie, Greisyn Carnegie, Camille Carnegie, James Carnegie, Ellis Mayronne, and Wyatt Mayronne; and her siblings, Michael Lockwood, Craig Lockwood, and Ingrid Lockwood Howd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Waldo Lockwood and Leafy Guichet Lockwood.
In true Patty fashion, she would want those she loved to remember her with laughter, good music, and a celebration of a life well lived.
