Patricia was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels. She was an accountant for many years and worked for Dresser/Macgobar Minerals and Direct Tire Town.
Patricia was known for her devotion to her family and passion and zest for life. Family meant everything to her, and she led by her amazing example. She was the family matriarch and kept us close knit and entertained us often with our family’s stories throughout the years. We made wonderful new memories every time we were together, and she was a huge part of those. She was proud of us all and we know she was a huge part of our upbringing. Her watchful eye, faith and guidance, concern, love, and compassion shaped each of us to become who we are. She made life-long friends wherever she went. She was generous with her time and various charities. She always had a smile and a hug for all and was truly unforgettable. Her joy was infectious.
She enjoyed absolutely anything fun! That included going to every Mardi Gras parade in a tri-parish area (all in one night), traveling absolutely anywhere, ceramics, crafting, going to dinner and family gatherings, hitting the casinos, attending concerts and Jazz Fest, going to musicals, seeing the Christmas lights and decorations, etc. Anything we could dream up, she was ready to “rat the streets” as she loved to say. She shared a love of muscle cars, boats, and fishing with her son-in-law. She was a collector of anything that made her happy including matches of all the places she visited, doubloons from her favorite parades (was there even a parade she didn’t like?), coins and lots of other things.
We were blessed to live so close to such a smart and fun woman so we could enjoy spending time together and gleaning her wisdom often. Anyone who knew Pat would agree she was fiercely independent right up to the end of her life. She was still driving her trusty SUV almost until she passed. She made everyone feel special and will be missed beyond measure.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Melton and Rose Riggio, and her long-time companion, Robert E. Lee.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Christine Armand-Perret (Garret); her sister, Deborah Riggio Stansbury (Gus); her two granddaughters, Hannah Ruth and Julia Rose; her godchild, Chad Paul Bonnet, Sr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
