With love in our hearts and treasured memories to hold dear, we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Nunez Giacona, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on July 21, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Gretna, Louisiana, on November 24, 1942, Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Earl and Bertha Nunez.
Patricia's life was a testament to love, creativity, and dedication. She was blessed with a marriage of over six decades to her husband, Corrado Giacona, II, whom she married on July 25, 1964, at St. Joseph Church. Together, they built a beautiful family and a remarkable life, surrounded by their children - Gina, Corrado, III, and Louis, II - and their families.
Her career as an interior designer and home builder was marked by an unparalleled sense of style and creativity. Patricia's work left a lasting impression on everyone who experienced it, as her designs effortlessly transformed spaces into works of art. In addition to her design career, she served as the Secretary / Treasurer of Giacona Container Company, the family's plastic drink cup printing and manufacturing business.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia had a profound passion for fashion. Her unique style and elegance always stood out with her impeccable taste, no matter the occasion. She also loved her country and was always a proud supporter of the USA.
She is survived by her loving husband, Corrado; her children and their spouses, Gina, Corrado, III and Christine, and Louis, II and Crissy; her 7 cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Christopher, Corrado, IV, Nicholas, Julia, Louis, III, and Alex; and her dear sister, Bertha Vera. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Bertha, her grandson, Scotty, and her sisters, Jacquelyn and Geraldine, all of whom she dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass in Metairie Cemetery.
Patricia's light will continue to shine through the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
