Peggy Rabinowitz Jacobs, age 80 years, passed away on January 19, 2022, from progression of her illness that she battled for many years. Peggy graduated from Isidore Newman School and attended Stephens College in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the adored wife of over fifty-five years to her loving husband Stanley Jacobs and the cherished mother to her two daughters, Jodi Jacobs Aamodt (Peter) and Missy Jacobs Maslia (Darryl). She often said that her greatest joy was being “TeeTee” to her four grandchildren, Marley, Benjamin, Mason and Alexa. It gives the family enormous comfort and peace to know that she is now reunited with her late parents Muriel Kanterman Rabinowitz and Morris Rabinowitz and her cherished dog Chelsea. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed a number of jobs, from retail to real estate with Farnsworth Samuels, volunteering at Touro Infirmary Giftshop, to being the co-owner of a gift basket business with her close friends. However, without question, her greatest passion and joy in life was her family and she unapologetically devoted herself in every capacity to being a hands-on wife, mother and grandmother. So many of her happiest moments stem from the yearly Jacobs Family summer trips and years of travel and adventures. Peggy was the epitome of good and nothing brought her more joy or pleasure than to do for others. At the end of the day, she will be remembered most for the simplest and purest of traits – her kindness, incredible generosity and compassion. She never failed to put others first and always went above and beyond for anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Quite simply, she never met a stranger, never made an enemy and was warm and welcoming to all that crossed her path. She had an adventurous and joyful spirit and lived her life with passion for all things from her great love of the New Orleans Saints, LSU sports, QVC purchases, casino outings and video poker, diet cokes, mah jong and rummy cue. It is sore understatement to say that her family and friends will miss her dearly, but her legacy of goodness will live on in all that loved her, and her memory will forever be a blessing to those that are mourning her loss. After years of suffering, it is a comfort to know that she is at peace, catching a Joan Rivers show with her cousin Penny, seeing plays and shopping til her hearts content in New York City, and having a forever front row seat to watch her beloved Saints. Her family is enormously grateful to Juanita Gonzalez who loved and cared for her for so many years. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Temple Sinai on Friday, January 21, 2022, that will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation at Temple Sinai that will begin at 11:30 a.m. For those unable to attend, the zoom link for the memorial service is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85032367890?pwd=Q3BSaXhyWWpWMHVJN2N3d2pkZEFtdz09.
