Peggy Sue Fugate Gianfala

Peggy Sue Fugate Gianfala, wife of the late Joseph D. Gianfala, Sr., entered into her eternal life on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Canon Hospice. She was predeceased by her parents, Blanche Lacy Fugate and Grover C. Fugate. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Gianfala was a homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid bowler at Pelican Bowling Lanes in Metairie and was active in the St. Dominic’s Mother’s Club in New Orleans. She was also a parishioner of St. Louis King of France in Metairie. In addition, her hobbies throughout her life included dressmaking, gardening, and singing. She is survived by her children, Cynthia S. Gianfala, Joseph D. Gianfala, Jr. (Donna), Daniel P. Gianfala (John), and Catherine G. Carriere (Alvin); grandson, Jonathan Gianfala (Nene); and sister, Julia Christensen (Neil).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 1 P.M. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. Interment on a later date will be private. To honor her memory, flowers are welcome. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make donations to the American Alzheimer’s Association or the National Kidney Foundation in Peggy’s name.
