Peter Glaser

Peter Leon Glaser was born on March 2, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Hans and Rose Glaser, who had arrived in the city less than a year earlier after fleeing the Nazi occupation of Europe. New Orleans became the home Peter would love for the rest of his life. He attended Warren Easton High School before going on to Tulane University and then to LSU Dental School where he earned his Dental Degree in 1963. He then enlisted in the United States Navy as a dentist, serving aboard an aircraft carrier stationed in the Canary Islands. When his service concluded, Peter returned to New Orleans, opening a solo dental practice in a small building in Boutte, Louisiana which he built into one of the largest dental practices in the state of Louisiana. He was also a former President of the New Orleans Dental Association. Peter's generosity knew no bounds. He was endlessly generous with his friends and family and their friends and family. He was as active as he was generous. He could be found daily at the gym and managed some way to move his body every single day. He loved to ski especially in Telluride, Colorado, and was never happier than when he got to ski with his grandchildren. Peter never turned down an invitation to a party or any opportunity to have a good time. Peter is survived by his ex-wife, Jere; his three children, Todd, Laurie, and Allison; and his two grandchildren, Jules and Jesse, whom he adored. He is also survived by his brother Charles, his sister-in-law Cathy and his nieces Maggie and Rachel and his nephew Alex. He will be remembered for his generosity, his zest for life, and the countless people he welcomed into his home, his practice, and his heart.
