

Philip Gensler Jr., Colonel, United States Army Reserve (Retired) passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016 at the age of 80. A native of New Orleans, Col. Gensler received his B.A. degree from Tulane University and was a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the National Defense University. He was an account executive for Merrill, Lynch before joining Waters, Parkerson & Co., Inc. where he served as Executive Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, General Securities Principal, and member of the investment committee throughout his career. He was a member and past chairman of the NASD District #5 Business Conduct Committee and past president of the Financial Analysts of New Orleans. Col. Gensler served on the executive committee and was the past chairman of the Times-Picayune Doll & Toy Fund. He was also past Chairman of the Board and former member of the Executive Committee of the Metropolitan Crime Commission and member of the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Greater New Orleans. Gensler was a lifetime member of the Boston Club, Stratford Club and member of several Carnival organizations. An avid golfer, Phil spent many happy hours on the links. Col. Gensler is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Pratt Gensler (Betty) and a brother, George Gensler. He is survived by his three children, Philip Gensler III (Pam), D. Scott Gensler (Kendall) and Nina Pratt Gensler, three grandchildren, Mary Catherine Gensler, Elizabeth Turner Gensler and Miles Ogden Gensler, a sister Nicette Goodier (Glenn) and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fiancée, Beverly Rose Lamb and her family, Allison, Rob and Annie Steinfeld; and Whitney, Roy, Timothy and Robert Brooks. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday, June 17 at Trinity Church, 1329 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans 70130 at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am untiI service time. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Preservation Resource Center or the Wounded Warrior Project. ~ ~
