

Philip (Phil) J. Mull Sr, on Friday June 19, 2026 at age 100 was reunited with his soul mate and beloved wife of 73 years Lovenia (Lou) B Mull to spend their eternal life together with Jesus. Phil was born on February 25, 1926 to his parents who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Jessie, Frankie, and Virginia and his son in law Gary Palmisano Sr. He is survived by his children Philip (Phil) Mull Jr. (Dottie), Debbie Mull, Cindy Catalano (Frank), and Karen Palmisano, his grandchildren, Philip (Phil) Mull III (Meredith), Chad Mull (Dana), Shaun Mull (Gaylin), Chantell Jennings (Peter), Brandon Laiche, Gary Palmisano Jr. (Megan) Frank Catalano Jr. (Stephanie), Brandi Shoemake (Cal), Nick Catalano, Suzie Siragusa (Sal), Jacen Catalano, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Phil is also survived by his many treasured nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Phil was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army for WWII and the United States Navy for the Korean War. He began his career at Dixie Brewery, later worked at Falstaff Brewery, and retired with over 40 years of service as a driver for Falstaff.
He and his wife Lou enjoyed many memorable trips out west over the years. Phil especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who hold many countless fond memories of their Mehearty - PawPaw through special outings and time spent with each one of them. His hobbies included golfing, softball, and he enjoyed the racetrack and betting on the ponies.
As a young man Phil was one of the finest boxers from the New Orleans area. Phil was a SAAU Champion, with him winning two championships. Known as a clever boxer, he later shared his talent as a Boxing Coach for over 15 years at Delta Playground in Metairie. He dedicated countless hours to mentoring young boys, teaching them not only the art of boxing but also values of commitment, respect and life lessons.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his wonderful caregiver family: Dr. Michelle Davis, MJ, Jessi, Mrs. Lois, Mrs. Augustine, Ms. Nyrobe, Ms. Darlene and The Anvoi Hospice Family, Jody, Kaci and Heather.
A private graveside burial and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
