She was born on August 2,1988 to Terry Lee Feltner Sr. (Mary Lee) and Cindy Plauche’ (Dennis). Phoenix will be missed everyday by her stepson Nathan Lousteau; her brothers Terry Feltner Jr. (Jessica) and Billy Feltner (Kelsey); step brothers Mark Plauche’ (Elaine), Greg Simon and her step sisters Pamela Sellen (Danny) Kelly Pesantes (Jorge), Leslie Plauche’, Greer Palmisano (Keith), Amanda Malone (Brian) and Jennifer Fishe (David). Her uncles, David “Chip” Feltner Jr. (Barbara) and Dwayne “Boo” Feltner (Penny) will sadly miss their “Little Phe”. Also, Phoenix has left behind several amazing nieces and nephews along with cousins whose lives are forever changed by her passing.
As a young girl, Phoenix loved cheering and dancing. She cheered on her brothers at Oakdale Playground for several years. In turn, her brothers, Terry and Billy, had to watch her sport her talent on the softball field as well on the stage to dance. After graduating from Riverdale High School, Phoenix earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. For several years, Phoenix taught preschool until she decided it was more important to stay home with Kynzie and Payton. While home, Phoenix developed a love for creating shirt and cup designs. Through this passion, she established a very successful Designs by Phoenix business on Etsy.
Phoenix enjoyed family time the most. She and her husband spent many days on their back deck fishing and watching the kids kayak the waterways. When not on the deck, Phoenix, Stephen, MacKynzie and Payton attended the Friday Night Lights of the Rummel Raiders where their son/brother, Nathan, played football. They were Nathan’s biggest fans. Doing family game nights, Tik Toks with her niece, Tristen, and the girls; Phoenix made the best time of any moment. You could often find Phoenix and the girls walking in Lafreniere Park while their Nana, Phoenix’s best friend, took hundreds of pictures of them. Whether at a crawfish boil at her dad’s, at slumber parties with her best cousin, Casie, and their girls or relaxing in the pool with her mom and Dennis, Phoenix was content because she was with her family. Being a mom made her life complete.
Phoenix was an exuberantly beautiful person inside and out. When she loved people, she loved them hard. During her short journey here with us, so many people’s lives were touched by Phoenix’s generously giving heart. There is no denying that Phoenix along with her infectious smile will be so dearly missed and never forgotten.
Our family would like to thank all of our friends, family and community who have reached out to us as well as gave such generous donations. To the firefighters, thank you for your valiant efforts and compassionate hearts during this heartbreaking time. Finally, a special thank you to Chase Ziblich for making Phoenix’s daughters’ forever angel dresses for their eternal rest.
