To my brother Ray,
Wow, what a life you had. you will be remembered by many. As your little brother, I looked up to you in so many aspect of life. We had such a great time as kids together. The Friday night fights on dad's old army blanket were the highlight of the week. Our trips to Clermont Harbor every summer were the only vacation our parents could afford but they were an adventure. C.J, you and I would go on daily hikes looking for turtles. We also conducted scientific experiments on crabs. We would freeze them solid and then bring them back to life. I think we were our own Dr. Morgus. 

The high school years, you were drawn to music and I towards sports but we remained close. We had the greatest parents any two boys could ask for in life. Dad was hard on both of us to bring out the best in ourselves and look how we turned out.  You earned so many higher education degrees, I lost count. You were a very well respected engineer for the government for over twenty years. You earned many rewards and awards  during your time there. I was so proud of all you accomplished.   Your previous career jobs were diverse--photographer, musician, camera operator, band member, college teacher, director, film editor, film processor, audio-film engineer at dental school, WYES-TV employee , computer expert to the high degree and so many more that I can't recall.
The Friends you made at these jobs were drawn to your intellect , humor and wit. They remained close to you to the end.  John S., David W.,Ray C.,Russell T.,Nick S., Greg G., Danna P., Giles M.,Fran M.,Mike P.,Drew M., and Dr. Ken B. all loved you and considered you special.  I want to thank the entire Honore Gang we grew up with-- boy what a special group of people in our neighborhood.
Towards the end and in the previous four years of your life , I had plenty of help caring for you. Attentive Companion Care workers are the best. Thank you Venetta, Ayana,Natasha, Anatrice and Ebony.
Laura and I will miss you the most. 

Ray was a great friend friend when growing up.  Ray and I attended St. Agnes and Rummel High together.  I remember many days we spent together at his home on Honore Drive with this Mom and Dad in Old Jefferson.  He was a good friend.
My prayers are with his family.

Ray was a wonderful friend.  Ray would do anything he could to help anyone who needed the help.
Ray and I were friends since 9th grade. He was my with me in college.
He loved his years at Southeastern, loved being in the band.
Ray would tell you what his goal was and he would do it, such as getting all his college degrees.
Loved his science fiction and exploring all types of music. He could discuss both forever with great knowledge.
He and I would spend hours listening and watching music video's. This I will surely miss.
Ray truly loved his mom, dad and brother Terry, whom Ray would tell you himself was the best brother anyone could ask for the way he helped Ray with all his health problems.
You left us too soon Ray.

      Ray is the best friend anybody could have!  He and I enjoyed listening to and playing music and drums.  He was a great drummer!  He loved to hear bands like Genesis, Yes, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.  He  idolized certain drummers like Bill Bruford, Carl Palmer and Phil Collins.  Many classical overtures were included  in his collection.
      Although he is not with us anymore,  I will always remember Ray, especially when I play drums and listen to music!

I am so sorry for your loss.  Kenneth Barnes lost his best friend. Movie night won't be the same.

Ray was a terrific friend.  Although he hated to show his tender-hearted side, he would do anything for you. (All he wanted was a Barq's and some Wolf Brand chili!)  He loved to take long drives-- more like "adventures." He was a great photographer and loved the darkroom (with friend Vinnie) manipulating photos.  He did everything he tried well and if he didn't, he kept at it until it was mastered.  Imagine degrees in Music and Electrical Engineering!  I will miss our long talks on "aliens," which usually ended up with some good-natured name calling.  This nerd will miss him so much.
