Raphael Adam Uzee "Ray", age 87 years, was welcomed into the loving arms of his heavenly Father on Friday, April 27, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Mary Neelis Uzee for 48 years. Loving father of Robert Uzee (the late Jane Uzee), Rachel Kramer (Joseph), Linda Uzee, Mary Proctor (the late Allen Proctor, Jr. M.D.) and Nancy St. Germain (Thomas). Proud grandfather of Charlotte Johnson, Ryan Uzee, Natalie Kelley, Reid Uzee, Jessica Organ, Jeffrey Proctor, Aimee Thompson, Douglas Proctor, Adam St. Germain, and Benjamin Proctor. Doting great grandfather of Jesse Kelley, Jacob Organ, Rocky Organ, A.J. Kelley, John Thomas Johnson, Emelia Uzee, Ryan Uzee, Jr., Jesse James Organ, River Uzee, Caroline Proctor and Penelope Organ. Affectionately called "Pop" by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends, both young and old. Ray was a United States Marine in the Korean Conflict and received numerous medals of honor, including the Purple Heart. Following his military service, Ray began his work career at Chevron and was a dedicated employee until he retired 38 years later. Throughout his life, Ray was a devout Catholic and for the past 20 years, he was a faithful parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mandeville. On a daily basis, Ray "Pop" genuinely exemplified his love for God, his family and his country. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Mary Queen of Peace, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471, on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with public visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
