Raymond H. Gustafson

Raymond H. Gustafson, age 78, died November 3, 2024, with family at his side. Ray was born in Racine, WI, on December 13, 1945. He later moved to Chicago and then California to study Business and Mortuary Science. Ray became a resident of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast for over 20 years. He returned home to Wisconsin in 2015 to be near family.

Over his years, Ray traveled all over the world and enjoyed cruising. He was also very involved in Mardi Gras for many years. Ray was proud to be a Duke of Iris in 1997 and King of Iris in 2001. After his return to Wisconsin, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Everyone who met him enjoyed his company. He was well known as “Uncle Ray” to his nephew-in-laws family and many of his nephew and niece’s friends.

Church was a very important part of his life and he met many wonderful friends through his congregation at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Harold and Minnie Lucille Gustafson; brother, Richard Howard Gustafson; and good friend, Dr. John Williams, Jr.

He is survived by his brother, James (Shelley) Gustafson; nephew, Aric Gustafson; niece, Erin (Michael) Nichols; great-niece, Madison Nichols; and great-nephew, August Nichols.

A mass will be held on Friday, November 8th, 11:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in WI.
