Reina Madrid passed away on April 21, 2024 at the age of 67. She was born on November 10, 1956 in Tela, Honduras. She worked as an airline stewardess for Sahsa Airlines. She also worked in the clothing and retail industry at Jean Scene in the French Quarter and in Canal Place mall, both in New Orleans, and then as an Aventura Fragrance Specialist for Bloomingdale’s in Miami for 27 years. She gave back to her community by being a member of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and she also helped the homeless youth in Honduras. In her free time, she was very into health and fitness and enjoyed flamenco dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Madrid and Claudina Gonzalez; and brothers, Mario Madrid and Carlos Madrid.
Reina is survived by her son, Eduardo Madrid (Alison); sister, Janet Picado (Diego); brother, Julio Madrid (Ana); grandchildren, Dominic Madrid and Victoria Madrid; and other family members including nieces, nephews, cousins and godmother.
The immediate family wishes to express their gratitude to residents of Sunny Isle, the Bloomingdale’s Aventura Family, and family members in New Orleans.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass officiated by Rev. Lance Campo, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1404 Erato Street in New Orleans, on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:45 p.m. After the Mass, Reina will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park.
