Richard W. Broussard, Sr.

Richard (Dick) Warren Broussard, Sr. born on September 19, 1932, passed away on August 5, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, lived in Baton Rouge for many years, but resided most of his life in Metairie. He was the beloved husband of the predeceased Dolores Kieffe Broussard, for 52 years; loving and generous father of Richard, Jr. (Kelley), Karen Johnson (Gerald) and Sandy Frantz (Steve, Sr.). Proud grandfather of Steve Frantz, Jr. (Claudia), Cristine Earls (Jered), Matt Johnson (Lani) and Richard “Richie” Broussard, III (Annie). Great-grandfather of Sawyer and Sadie Frantz and Henry Broussard. He was also preceded in death by his parents Ophey and Malvina Foret Broussard and sister Lynn McKearan. Dick was devoted to our Lord and his Catholic faith, was a founding member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church and Men’s Club, a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist, an RCIA Sponsor, and served on many church committees in service to the Lord.

Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans on Monday, August 12, 2024 beginning at 10:00am. A Catholic mass will begin at 12:00pm. Private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
