Richard Hamilton Clewis passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at age 89. Beloved husband of Cathleen Pritchett Clewis for 69 years. Son of the late Walter and Louise Clewis. Loving father of Richard Hamilton Clewis, Jr. (Debbie), Karen Fontenot (Marvyn), Darlene Snyder (Charles) and Dale Clewis (Kathleen). Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Mr. Clewis retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service and the Civil Service. He taught ROTC at St. Aloysius and Brother Martin High Schools.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Slidell Good Sams Program or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
