Richard Sweney Favor

Richard Sweney Favor passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the age of 76. He was born in Centralia, Illinois, and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years before moving with his family to New Orleans. He graduated from Metairie Park Country Day and Tulane University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He leaves behind a daughter, Maria Favor Argote (Randy), and two sons, Richard Springer Favor (Mamie) and George Michael Favor (Becca). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Springer and James Favor, Robert, Evelyn, and Madelyn Argote, and Lauren and Mary Roberts Favor, one sister, Marda Favor Johnson (Gordon), and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Ezro and Margaret Sweney Favor, and infant sister, Judith Ann Favor.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the John J. Hainkel, Jr. Home and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.

A private service and burial were held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries.
