Richard Anthony Fontenot passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 27, 1941, to John Elton Fontenot, Sr. and Cecile Marie Landry Fontenot, who preceded him in death. After graduating from Jesuit High School in 1958, he went on to open his own business, the Sinclair Agency. He specialized in insurance, financial advising, and investments.
Brother of Leonard J. Fontenot, and the late John Elton Fontenot, Jr., Donald J. Fontenot, and Timothy J. Fontenot. Father of Michael J. Fontenot, David J. Fontenot (Ann), Christopher J. Fontenot, and Dennis R. Fontenot (Missy). Former husband of Martha Camara Schubert and the late Shirley Revon Geraci. He is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was laid to rest in a private graveside service in All Saints Mausoleum on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
