Richard's passions was being outdoors; he loved taking long walks, swimming, and an avid fisherman. He was a longtime member with the Knights of Columbus and a gumbo enthusiast.
Richard is survived by his three beloved children, Tabitha Grimes (Rick Bullock), Scott Grimes, Mary Trosclair (Lloyd), and Sean Grimes; his four grandchildren, Blake Gonzales (Emma), Bradley Gonzales (Rhiannon), Kaitlyn Grimes, and Roxanne Trosclair; his two great-grandchildren, Brenley and Bennett Gonzales; his brother, Ralph Grimes (Karen); his nephew, Rory Grimes; his niece, Anna Louise Grimes; and his former wife, Lori Armstrong Grimes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Deloris Grimes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Richard's life graveside service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 10:00AM.
