
Richard Ainsworth Hinckley passed away in New Orleans on June 3, 2018 at the age of 95. Son of the late Norbert Bernard and Inez Reynaud Hinckley, he is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Gloria Lehmann Hinckley, his daughter, Leila Hinckley Buccellato, and his brother, Norbert Reynaud Hinckley.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard A. Hinckley, Jr. (Jane) and Sr. Telchilde O.S.B. (née Adele Hinckley); grandchildren, Richard A. Hinckley, III (Kate), Julia K. Hinckley, Emily B. Levinsky (Michael), Andrew L. Buccellato (Jaimie), Kristen G. Hinckley, Michael J. Hinckley, Christopher J. Hinckley, Matthew S. Hinckley, and Megan C. Hinckley; great-granddaughter, Hadley Leila Levinsky; and his wife for the past 29 years, June Coleman Hinckley and her son Clay Robinson (Christa).
Richard graduated from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans before enlisting in the United States Army during World War II. After serving his country, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans, and was a member of the Louisiana State Bar for over 60 years. Like any “good” New Orleanian, Richard was a Saints fan, but many years in Pennsylvania opened his heart to his two true sports loves: the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at 10 am on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. A mass will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 am. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
