Rita Frances Imbornone Tardiff, age 97, passed away on April 5, 2021 at 1:20 a.m. She was born in New Orleans on August 18, 1923 to the late Dominick Imbornone and Olivia Basso Imbornone. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph R. Tardiff, Sr.; her son, Det. Joseph R. Tardiff, Jr. (Jewell); her granddaughter, Ginger Callegan; and her siblings, Dominick Imbornone, Jr., Vivian Cullia, and Rosemary Brown. She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Lewis Calabresi (Tony), Beverly Marino (Louie), and Valerie Terpening (Paul); and her 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Rita was a very devoted and active member of the St. James the Major Church, serving on the Altar Society, The Catholic Daughters of America, The Golden Ladies, and the Just for Fun Group. She was awarded the St. Louis Medallion in 1995 by the Archbishop Schuite.
She enjoyed reading, travelling, and planning luncheons and casino trips for her friends and club members.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on April 12, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until noon with a mass to follow at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park. All in attendance are kindly required to wear facemasks.
