Rita was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Pedro and Julia Ramos on September 22, 1931. She worked for many years at the American Can Company. Rita was a very special person. She was always happiest when she was among her friends and family. She loved people in general and would always be the first person to try and help. She enjoyed watching the Saints, football, and baseball. Rita would call everyone a “sh*t a*s” as a term of endearment.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Rodrigo Manuel Saavedra Jr; her parents, Pedro and Julia Ramos; her son, Ricardo Manuel Saavedra; sisters, Sylvia and Eileen; brothers, Lawrence Ramos and Francis “Bugs” Ramos; and grandchild, Carmen “DeeDee” Pepiton.
Rita is survived by her dedicated and loving daughter, Carmen Saavedra Pepiton; grandchildren, Jamie Pepiton Klingbeil and Raye Pepiton Cleland; and her great-grandchildren, Victoria, Danielle, Elizabeth, Ethan, Alexander, Blake, Sarah, Aysia, Avery, and Paris.
Her family is going to miss her very dearly and is sending Rita all of their love and prayers.
