Robert and Carolyn Leonhard

Robert A. Leonhard, born on October 11, 1935, passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 90. Mr. Leonhard’s beloved wife, Carolyn M. Leonhard, born on August 19, 1935, passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 89. Robert and Carolyn were both born and raised in New Orleans and were married for 68 years.

They were preceded in death by their beloved son, Robert A. Leonhard, Jr.; his parents, Albert and Marcella Leonhard; her parents, Daniel and Lillian McGovern; his sister, Ann L. Scopes; and her brother, Michael McGovern.

They are survived by their son, Richard A. Leonhard; their five grandchildren, Robert A. Leonhard, III, Bradley S. Leonhard, Brett M. Leonhard, Lauren E. Knippel, and Sarah N. Williams; their eight great grandchildren, Madeleine G. Knippel, Claire M. Knippel, and Rhett, Landry, Parker, Lola, Walker, and Collins Leonhard; his brother, Alan Leonhard; and her brother, Dennis McGovern.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Saint Anselm Catholic Church, 306 Saint Mary St. in Madisonville, on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:30AM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will be private.
