Robert James Blancher, native of New Orleans and residence of Mandeville for the past 2 years. He was the child of the late Edith and Oscar Blancher. He was married to Alma Kister Blancher for 61 years.
He was a proud father of Virginia Tellez, Bobby Blancher Jr., and Scott Blancher; grandfather to Bobby III, Brandon, and Gerald; great grandfather to Cameron and Cole.
He was a brother Edmond (Shirley), late Oscar (Tina), late Alton (Arleen) and sister Verlyn late (Augie); also nieces and nephews.
Bobby proudly served his country in WWII and Korean War on the USS Miami. He later worked at AT&T for 35 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA, on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 12pm. A visitation will begin at 10am. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
