Robert Emmett English

Robert Emmett English, 81, of New Orleans, passed away on Monday December 26th 2022, after a long illness in the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. Robert was born on June 21st 1941 to Emmett Michael English and Marie Kühl English in Chicago Illinois. In 1973, Robert met and married Susan Francingues in New Orleans. Robert Emmett English and Susan Francingues English went on to have two children, David Emmett English and Dustin Baron English. He is survived by his wife Susan English, and sons, David Emmett (Jessica Drum), and Dustin Baron (Ronda Richard), five grandchildren Aidan Baron, Evelyn Jeanne, Arden Elise, Nora Elaine, and Baron Joseph. Robert is also survived by his sister, Maribeth Kludac, and brother Richard James English.

Robert graduated with an Associates business degree at Delgado Community College, Robert worked at Lockheed Martin as a supporting engineer. He retired from the United States Coast Guard in 1993 as a Quarter Master, then went to work in the Military Sealift command.

In 1993, Robert retired and spent his time loving the outdoors, spending time on the water, being a handyman, and a jack of all trades. Robert was predeceased by Michael Emmett English, Joan English Meade, John Hall English.

Services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on

Friday, January 6th, 2023. Visitation is from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass following. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) would be greatly appreciated. The family wants to give special thanks to Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home and Heart of Hospice. Thank you for your care, kindness and compassion.
