Robert D. Hamer passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, age 82. Robert served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after many years from the United States Postal Service and AAA Insurance. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jacqueline LeJeune Hamer. Father of Kim Hamer Foret, Lori-Ann Hamer Hicks (Rodney), Robert Daniel Hamer, II, and Kenneth Daniel Hamer, II (Lori). Grandfather of Christopher L. Hamer (Alice), Shaun J. Stanton (Julie), Kenneth D. Hamer, III, Krista M. Hamer, Jessica H. Braud, Erin H. Murrill (Christopher), Katherine A. Hamer, Karin J. Hicks, Danielle L. Hamer and Ashlee V. Foret. Great grandfather of Emma Hamer, Ryleigh Hamer, Paxtyn Pierce, Ethan Braud and Aiden Bordelon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place privately for the family. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until service time.
