Robert Edward Hollingsworth, Jr., “Bob” passed away at his home in Metairie, Louisiana, on Monday, March 29, 2021. He was 71 years of age. Bob was born in New Orleans to the late Robert Edward Hollingsworth, Sr. and Dora Cerniglia Hollingsworth. He graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School, and worked for Texaco and later Energy Partners, Ltd. Bob was an avid jogger and enjoyed all sports, with LSU being his favorite.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Hollingsworth, Sr. (Ella). He is survived by his wife, Karen, to whom he was married for thirty-six years; his son, Billy (husband, Phillip); his sisters, Lauranell Rouyer (Ray) and Anna Winters (Donald); his brother, Sam (Deborah); and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Metairie. He was a kind person, and will be remembered by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 11:00AM. The interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. A recitation of the rosary will start at 10:40AM.
