Robert J. Hufft Jr.

Born on April 22, 1951, Bobby graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School, Class of 1969, and went on to earn his engineering degree from the University of New Orleans. He dedicated 35 years of his career to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Hydraulic Engineer, where he earned the respect and friendship of those who worked alongside him. After retiring in 2012, he embraced retirement with the same enthusiasm he brought to every chapter of his life, spending his days doing the things he loved most.

More than anything, Bobby cherished spending time with his family and friends. He found his greatest joy on the golf course, fishing at the camp with his cousin Jack, planning another Disney trip, cheering on The Astros and LSU Baseball, and making lasting memories with the people he loved most.

Robert is survived by his four children: Bobby Hufft and his wife, Karrie; Casey Hufft and his wife, Carolyn; Lindsey Keller and her husband, Kyle; and Chad Hufft and his wife, Brittany.

Proudly named Umpah, he treasured every moment spent with his 14 grandchildren: Andi, Hayes, Callyn, Cohen, Evirley, Presley, Casey Jr., Hanna, Marisa, Claire, Ashton, Carter, Laney, and Courtney.

He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen, Debbie, Sharon, and Brenda, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joachim Hufft Sr., and his mother, Isabel Breitling Hufft.

His quiet strength, gentle heart, unwavering love for his family, and kind spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless memories they will treasure forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Friday, July 24, 2026. Visitation will be from 9AM until the service begins at 11AM. The family has requested a private burial at a later date.
