Robert McHarg, 65, died unexpectedly at his home in uptown New Orleans on January 2nd, 2015. His generosity and his famous hospitality will be missed by his many friends and especially by his family who loved him.
Robert graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Fine Arts in 1971. This was the beginning of his life-long occupation as an art broker and appraiser. Ultimately he was the director of the Fine Arts Gallery of New Orleans.
Robert was a sailor, a fisherman, a crew boat Captain, a piano player, an artist and the host of incredible evenings of hilarity and wit.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sarah; his beautiful daughter Cameron Elizabeth; and his mother Millie McHarg, all of New Orleans.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8th at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church at 2PM. Family visitation will be at 1PM also at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church. 1545 State St NOLA 70118. There will be a reception held at the family home following the service.
